Market Literacy Project
The mission of this non-profit organization is to enable marketplace literacy among low-literate, low-income individuals through educational programs and through dissemination of educational materials. In India, the organization aims to provide education to enable entrepreneurial and consumer literacy among low-literate, low-income buyers and sellers.
Marketplace Literacy Project is founded by Madhu Viswanathan, the Diane and Steven Miller Professor in Business at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he has been on the faculty since 1990. His research on subsistence marketplaces takes a micro-level approach to gain bottom-up understanding of life circumstances and buyer, seller, and marketplace behaviors.

The National Skill Development Corporation India
NSDC is a one of its kind, Public Private Partnership that’s set up as part of a national skill development mission to fulfill the growing need in India for skilled manpower across sectors and narrow the existing gap between the demand and supply of skills. It aims to promote skill development by providing funding to catalyze the creation of large, quality, for-profit vocational institutions as well as support systems such as quality assurance, information systems and train the trainer academies.
